🥦 What is “good food”
To be honest, food is not just a way to satisfy hunger. It is a feeling, a connection—with your body, your family, and your culture. And if you have ever applied butter on hot roti or eaten food cooked by your mother, then you can understand what I am saying very well.
Today I want to talk to you about that same ‘special’ thing.
🥦 What is “good food”
“Eating well” doesn’t just mean eating healthy food. It means eating food that makes you feel good, gives you energy, and takes care of your health.
What should a good meal look like?
Fresh and homemade
Includes green vegetables, pulses, grains, and fruits
Not too much fried or processed
A balance of taste and nutrition
Small changes—like replacing white bread with whole wheat roti or replacing soft drinks with coconut water—can make a big difference.
🍕 Junk food - a trap of taste or a question of health?
Now you must be thinking, "What about burgers and pizzas?"
Look, eating junk food once in a while is not a crime. But when it becomes a daily habit, then the problem begins.
What can be the harm?
Fatigue and lethargy
Weight gain
Stomach and skin problems
Risk of heart disease and diabetes
Sometimes we all feel like eating French fries, but we never know when our body's heart will give up.
🍛 The relationship between food and our culture
In India, food is not just a taste, it is a culture.
Our festivals, pujas, weddings—everything is related to food.
Rice-puri on Rakshabandhan
Seviyan on Eid
Sweets on Diwali
And even the daily dal-rice has a special flavour hidden in it.
Each state has its own special recipes, and in every household the taste of the mother's cooking is better than any dish in the world.
💡 How to make food better in today's lifestyle,
Now that everything is fast-paced—work, traffic, mobile scrolling—food is often the last priority. But believe me, it is the most important thing.
Adopt some simple healthy habits:
Never skip breakfast
Prefer home-cooked food over eating out
Drink plenty of water
Keep dinner light
Have a “clean eating day” once a week
🧘♂ There is a direct relationship between food and mood
Science also says that what you eat affects your mood and mental health.
For example, eating too much sweet or fried food can make you lethargic and irritable. Whereas a balanced diet keeps you calm and happy.
Eating is a responsibility as well as fun
Eating is not just a means to fill the stomach, but a daily ritual that runs both our body and mind.
So the next time you eat, don't consider it just a time pass. Enjoy it, value it, and choose wisely.
Because right food = right life.
🙋♂ What is your experience?
